the chicken in a large Ziplock bag and pour the marinade over the chicken.

Refrigerate and let the chicken marinate for approx 2 hours. Transfer the

chicken to a baking dish and cook at 350 degrees until the chicken is done. This

chicken also turns out very nicely on the grill.

Teriyaki Sauce

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 Tab sugar

a few thin slices of ginger root (3-4 thin slices are good)

1 peeled %26amp; smashed / or flattened large garlic clove

* Optional, a little splash of booze such as whiskey, wine or saki in the sauce (We never used it but think that if you have some in the house it might be good) Also, if you want it spicy, just mince a fresh pepper and add to marinade.

Marinade: Pour over your chicken pieces in a bowl, turn the chicken to coat all surfaces, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. About 1/2 hr, turn the chicken pieces to coat again. Cover %26amp; return to refrigerator. When almost ready to eat, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Transfer entire contents of your bowl into a pan or baking dish, spread chicken pieces in your pan or dish. Bake until done.

It's been such a long time since I made the dish although we have some chicken wings marinading now in refrigerator and will bake it for tomorrow's dinner. If I recall, it took between 30 to 45 min. depending if it were thighs, drumsticks, or chicken wings and how cold they are before placing into oven.

If you take the chicken out of your refrigerator about 1/2 hr or more before baking, it will take less time to cook than if you move it directly from your refrigerator to oven. (That happened to us years ago when we invited guests for teriyaki chicken and it wasn't done by the usual time)
