Teriyaki Chicken Recipe - Japanese Recipe

From Setsuko Yoshizuka,

3/4 pounds chicken breasts or thighs

2 tbsp sake (rice wine)

4 tbsp soy sauce

4 tbsp mirin (sweet rice wine)

2 tbsp sugar

*grated ginger

Poke chicken using a fork. Mix other ingredients in a bowl. Marinate the chicken in the mixture for 15 minutes in the refrigerator. Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan. First, fry the skin side of the chicken on medium heat until the skin is browned.

Turn the chicken over to fry the other side on low heat. Pour the sauce used to marinate chicken in the pan. Cover the pan and steam cook the chicken on low heat until done. Remove the lid and simmer until the sauce becomes thick. Stop the heat. Slice the chicken and serve on a plate. Pour thickened sauce over the teriyaki chicken. Garnish with grated ginger if you would like.Anyone know a good teryaki chicken recipe?

- Place the garlic, soy sauce, sherry, honey, ginger and sesame oil in large bowl and beat with fork to mix the ingredients together evenly.

- Add the chicken and toss thoroughly, to coat in the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or longer.

- Cook the chicken on a fairly hot barbecue or oven 200c for about 20-25 minutes, basting with the remaining marinade.

- Sprinkle the chicken with sesame seeds. serve it with crisp green salad.
Oh my family and I love teriyaki chicken. The best way to do it is to marinate chickenteriyaki sauce with a little brown sugar. Depending on the chicken you use, if it's breast or thighs, I would cut into 1 inch strips. If it's bone-in, leave it the way it is. Heat veggie oil in a non-stick pan and saute until all juices run clear. Yummy!
This has become a favorite meal at our house!!

It is really very easy too!!

I use the Jack Daniels Teryaki marinade. You can find it in just about any grocery store, it is with the bbq sauce. Just let the chicken marinade for at least an hour, then grill or bake it, and it is soooo good, and so easy!
